Well, do you REALLY think they get a ton of influence from the US or UK when they are right between MExico and Guatemala? The don't even really speak English there, it's more of a creole. Plus, they have a much more Hispaniczed culture.

Sometimes, particularly in the United States, the term "Latin America" is used to refer to all of the Americas south of the U.S., including also countries such as Belize, Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, and Suriname where non-Romance languages prevail.

A large amount of Belizeans don't speak English, many speak Spanish or Creole. Sure, its was a British colony but the majority of them consider themselves Latin American. They, like other Central American countries that border the Caribbean Coast, consider themselves more Caribbean, while others, mostly near the Guatemalan border, consider themselves Latino. Latin America is extremely diverse. The demographics of Belize is similar to other Central American countries; Mestizo 48.7%, Creole 24.9%, Maya 10.6%, Garifuna 6.1%, other 9.7%. Belize, in any other way, is Latin American.
