You can start in Belize City for the history, shopping and natural sights nearby. Then it is a one hour water taxi ride to Ambergris Cay for the relaxing beaches, swimming, and fine food. The main town on Ambergris Cay, San Pedro, is one of the top destinations in the country for night life with dance clubs and live music. If I had to pick only one location it would be Ambergris Cay.

  2. When I think Belize, I think diving and snorkeling–the best in the world. Because of this, I favor Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker which are located off the world’s second largest reef.
Diver resorts can be rather sedate, however, so if you want the action along with the water I might suggest Belize City.
If you wish to check out more descriptions of what to do and see, you might check out: http://www.2TravelMonkeys.com, click on the VACATIONS tab and then click on the passport stamp-like “Travel Impressions” . There you will find in Mexico a map and description of these various places–as well as some great deals for booking your trip there
