  1. The Rice and Beans are great…………. you will need bug spray………. do you know what part of Belize you will be in ?
I have been to both places many times….. Punta Gorda has a small town with a couple Chinese resturants…… as I said the rice and beans are the very best….. there are some ruins nearby but I have not seen them…Punta Gorda is on the ocean but not much of a beach and not really a tourist destination…..but nice jungle
Then on to Cay Calker….. Paradise…… beautiful island beaches, crystal clear water, snorkeling, local sailboat rides on the local boats, very cool place, a tourist destination…… t- shirts friendly people…….. will be the highlight of your trip……… as I recall there are no banks in Cay Caulker but there is in Punta Gorda
Dollars are accepted everywhere…… but save your money for souvenirs in Cay Caulker…………… If you get a chance stop in Placencia….. if only for a day……also a piece of partadise…………. hope this helps and God Bless your Mission
PS Order fry jacks when you can…… mainly for breakfast…… kind of like an elephant ear with Guava jelly you wont be disapointed……… alot of american style food is in Cay Caulker
there are some tours you can take from Cay Caulker….
need to go be back later
Cay Caulker has a nice reef…… just off shore for snorkeling
North of Cay Caulker is Shark Alley……the sharks and rays there are quite tame and can be hand fed….. no joke……… beyond that is Hol Chin underwater reserve
fantastic you have to take boats or guides to both of these places but you wont be dissapointed in either one ….. dont know the price cause I always take my own boat…… you can dicker with the boat captains to get you there
beyond Hol Chin is San Pedro………..nice beach resort town but pricey compared to Caulker
