This is not an easy trip. But Marci is right about first class buses. What you’ll do is take a bus from Tijuana to Mexico City.. This bus will take you to the Autobuses del Norte bus terminal. There buy a ticket for your taxi at official taxi desks (with fixed-price tickets), inside terminal. Have the taxi driver take you to Central Camionera del Sur. From there, you’ll take a bus to Chetumal on the Caribbean coast. In Chetumal, check into a hotel. Leave a wake-up call at the desk for the next day and have the desk call Challenger Taxi to pick you up at the hotel some time after the wake-up call. So if it takes you half an hour to shower and get dressed in the morning, you could have your wake-up at 6am and the taxi be there at 6:30. But if you get into Chetumal after midnight, you may want to sleep in and cross the border in the afternoon. Challenger Taxi is helpful in expediting people across the Belize border and they can take you to the bus terminal in Corazal Town.
Then after you think about all you have to do to get from Tijuana to Belize, do some airfare research to see what it would cost to fly from Tijuana ( or San Diego) to Belize City.
    There are no passenger trains.

  2. marci knows best

Mikey doesn’t know what he is talking about. First class and premium buses in Mexico are very comfortable, with wide, cushy reclining seats, bathrooms, and cheesy movies. They are quite reasonable.
Here is a link to many of the bus schedules and other bus information.http://www.larpman.com/transportpages/bu…
Mikey is right about one thing, it would be a very long trip. You would probably want to take a bus to a city, stay part of a day and wander around, get back on the bus…
I don’t think there are many passenger trains any more. Realistically you might want to just fly down considering how long it would take.

  3. Man your gonna be on that thing for a long time. More than likely have a few buses to catch. I’d imagine a 3 to 4 day journey when all is said and done. I’ve taken the buses in Mexico. they are not pretty.
One reward is your destination…………..I’ve been to Belize 3 times and love the country……..Mikey needs to plan another Belize trip !
If you CAN take a train I would not hesitate to do so. The bus will stop for all the topes and pigs and every town to drop off and pick up.
