Is There A Problem With Flights Between Belize And Guatemala? If So Any Ideas When It May Be Resolved?

The underlying problem is that Guatemala has never recognised Belize as a separate country (on Guatemalan maps it’s shown as a province of Guatemala). The land border crossings also tend to be rather slow and heavy going for the same reason.
Incidentally, the Guatemalan issue is one reason why Belizeans are very happy that the British army still has a strong presence in Belize. Squaddies training at ‘base camp’ outside Belize City may disagree!
Lived in Belize for 18 months and visited Guatemala often.
