How Can I Call From Belize To The United States Using A Cell Phone?
I have a Verizon cell phone and I’ve been in Belize for a few days and I’m trying to call my family in the US, but everytime I dial 1-three digit area code- and my phone number, it says this number is invalid. I thought the country code for the US was one? On the cell phone it says roaming and I know it’s going to be $1.79 a minute, but I just wanted to quickly call and see how everyone is doing.

you must dial the relevant international exit code
followed by your national code (1 in the USA)
followed by your usual number
You need to add a + to the beginning. So the number will look like +14443332222.
You have to dial +1-area code-number to call the US from another country
You need to make sure that you have world wide on your phone, not just international dialing. Also, the full country code is 01. You may need to check with Verizon to make sure that your phone is set up correctly for world wide dialing.
Here is the difference: Internation dialing allows you to call from the US to other countries.
